The Astrologer

40/100 A scientist attempts to predict an immaculate conception through the use of astrology. This micro-budget affair with non-actors has all the trappings that you'd expect. However, the totally bonkers premise had me curious and, despite its shortcomings, the film kept my interest the entire time. It's certainly not a good film, long talking scenes got tiresome, the editing was awful, and it was fairly anti-climactic. But, they stayed within budget making it feel grounded and even the nudity was tasteful. I could have done without the pics of dead children, though. -- DrNostromo.com
